Can you see anything at all for the other postcode even if the cabinet will be upgraded?

Nothing for the other postcode and others on the same side as Station Road as you are

Sighs as we have to rely on Openreach where I live.

Remember that Openreach isn't a charity but a commercial company answerable to its shareholders, or rather BT and its shareholders. If a cab isn't commercially viable to upgrade then it will need to be subsidised or "gap funded" in some way, be that through BDUK or those connected to the cab funding the upgrade themselves.

You are as reliant on every other provider as you are on Openreach. Openreach are no more obliged to provide a service than any other provider - have you tried speaking to Virgin or one of the other fibre providers to see if they have any plans? You are only relying on Openreach because no-one else sees it as financially viable to deliver a service to you.

Virgin cannot supply they cover part of the village only the core, I live on the outskirts as do many other people here. Ihave tried other fibre suppliers no one has any plans for this area except Openreach at the moment. I have come across a brick wall tbh.

Virgin "will not" supply rather than cannot. The same as Openreach, Virgin could supply anywhere but they don't because it doesn't make them enough profit. The same reasoning why Openreach don't supply everywhere but the reaction is always "I only have Openreach and they won't supply" - rather than "Virgin refuse to supply". Openreach are a business that has shareholders like many others and if they don't make a profit then they wouldn't be able to provide services for long.

The only people that can drive this are the government but either they legislate (eg USO) or they fund (eg BDUK).

Or you can get together the community and go direct to Openreach to ask them how much they would charge to serve the community and then all get together to pay it - that sorts out the profit issue for Openreach and can give you a solution sooner. The problem is that many people in a community aren't willing to pay because they believe Openreach should do it for them out of the kindness of their hearts.
