Errrr Infinity 4 FTTP is provisioned as 330/30 Mbps however actual throughput will be around 310/30 after overheads.technically fttpod 330/30 and native fttp 330/30 are the same.

That's about right, the most I have got is 319Mbit down and 33Mbit up.

How are you testing? Can you run the Thinkbroaband test and post the screenshot for the results?

I also have the 330/30 service but never get below 300/28 in throughput at all times. It sounds like youre experiencing congestion. Have you made your isp (bt?) aware of this?

I suspect you've a VLAN to yourself essentially as there's no native FTTP available in your area. The OP isn't so fortunate and shares capacity with a number of other FTTP customers.

At exchange level, I do share capacity with other (native) fttp users, eg those at IV2 6ED. Anyway fttp congestion or not, a half decent isp would investigate why the OP isnt getting line speeds 24/7.

And would be told that as long as the product were performing within specifications all is as it should be. No ISP will promise full speed on 330 services whether using FTTP or mystical carrier pigeons.

Whether you share with others, and how many, depends which ISPs are mapped to which VLANs and which OLTs are. You are going to be on an OLT port of your own which may also mean you've a VLAN to yourself.

Adrian Kennard, Director of AAISP, told ISPreview.co.uk:

We are getting the [end-user] to try different speed tests as well obviously when you are dealing with lines like this the latency and TCP window size can have a huge impact on speed tests, so we are not too surprised by the result.

The other issue, of course, is that for us to have 330Mb/s of spare headroom on our BT link would cost around £16,000 a month to BT alone, so there will be times when there is not a full 330Mb/s available for this trial customer. Hopefully BT can look at some reductions in bandwidth costs with the launch of such services.
