Had a call back from BT today and they said it's not possible, my line is only capable of 41mbps and there was nothing they could do.
I said it's an error on the system but apparently they said they checked multiple sources and openreach and they are saying it's not possible.
I explained i'm getting 55mbps at the moment and the attainable rate is showing twice that. After further discussion i said to prove me wrong upgrade me to Infinity 2 and if they are right my line will stay at 55mbps or less or it will go to the max capable 80/20.
They dumped me on a 18 month contract (Which is fine with me) and i'm secured against the price rise in January.
The upgrade will happen tomorrow and we'll see.

Fab, they are just going off what the system has stored down. It's good they have made an exception, once it syncs at full speed I am sure they will offer an apology.
Try to get them to adjust the openreach database whilst you are dealing with exec complaints (doubtful they can touch it but worth a shot).
Haha, what a palaver! I'm glad that you managed to convince them! I hope you enjoy your new speed! Yes, the database definitely needs updating, my estimate is way too low for what my line can acheive. LOL.

Hmm exec complaints are not technical, they are just very good at speaking with the right people and making exceptions. I'm looking forward to tomorrow
