Re: Comaplaining to Openreach about wasted day off

Would much rather one communication if Im honest. Much easier when the ISP lets you know the detail and thats all you hear than to possibly get conflicting messages. Im going to guess ISPs have opted against the service for that reason.

Ive only ever been mass market ISP, all of which have portals and texts from the ISP direct.

Either way I still blame the ISP they need to ensure accurate info gets to the customer. If this BT SMS stuff ends up misleading customers they need to figure out if to continue with it of to replace it with something better internally.

In reply to a post by Icaras:
Im 90% sure the Openreach system sends texts out to the contact number on the job when the engineer picks up the job?

When I signed up with Now TV and had a phone line fitted, I was text by Openreach telling me the name of the Engineer it also had a link as to where he had got to.

When I worked for SKY (in their BB Support team) we could log onto Openreach's system and track the engineer ourselves.

I am not sure how many ISP's subscribe to this (if that's how it works), but as far as I know when I worked at SKY whatever number you give as a contact number is passed to OR with your order.

CJT.

On NOW TV Broadband up to 38 Mbps
