Superfast Cymru

[link to this post]

So on reading the news from the Welsh Government this week, if operneach have not started/ cannot finish FTTC cabinets in 2 months we will have a long wait for the new contracts to be signed and then implemented.

I see cab 4 should be able to be start taking orders in the next 2 months but all other plans may have to be shelved as I have not seen any other works in the area.

Exchange SWRSO still exchange only.

I presume my Apr/July 2018 codelook date can be scrapped again.

Can't see cab projects being abandoned part way through the build.

Noted some more live FTTP this week and a couple of cabinets last week, what I don't know is whether physical work was finished by 31st December and this is just final commissioning/hand off to checker delays.

The volumes are a long way down on what was seen in December though.

At end of the day, the stonewall attitude of the Welsh Assembly has to change, if I can accomplish what I do in terms of seeing this stuff, then no reason they cannot and even more so as they have a contractual path for questions. Maybe there is a break down of communication and a divorce is wanted.

The variation in how projects are communicating is very telling, particularly as its generally the same BT, down in Devon and Somerset am getting a sense of deja vu, since Gigaclear is taking time doing planning and people are chasing for updates from CDS.

Yes, very true. Gigaclear are going to be rolling out to a local village near me called Harpford in Devon, and they said building won't start till 2019! blush
