Funny you say that, we were discussing that same thing here the other night, we could never go back to ADSL2+ with a very inconsistent phone line that died when it become windy and when it rained heavy etc.

Now its like when we need to download something its just there, uploading huge files in the several gigabytes range only takes about 20 to 30 mins where as before would take 13.5 hours, so its a huge better now.

Granted I had issues getting here, but I am glad I did all that.

I feel much the same even though I'm on VDSL2 (80/20). I run a large family video archive c100TB and having 20Mbps up has brought it to life like never before. So whereas 80 down is probably all we need for now I'd love to see a further significant increase in up speed as I'm sure would many others. Not that I am so sure that I could afford it! )

Yeah our down speed is fine and don't really need any faster, I am still waiting for BT to pull their finger out and upgrade my up speed from 30Mbps to 50Mbps.
BT Wholesale says I can get it shown >> here <<, but BT Retail on the phone says I cannot.

So I will give them to the end of the month and will give them another phone call and query about it, but if no joy an email will be sent.

Our only hope in the foreseeable future would be G-Fast but can't see that happening being as we're on an AIO cab and BTO in their wisdom when doing the necessary rearrangement of our EO lines added what I feel to have been an unnecessary 80m loop to the new D-sides making my D-side 180m or so when it could have been closer to 100m. No, not complaining as we now all have good fast connections compared to what we had previously. Nevertheless that doesn't stop me being envious of those with FTTP connections.

I just hope my maximum attainable doesn't drop too much further having dropped from well over 100Mbps when first enabled to the current 82Mbps or so as more residents have upgraded their connections.

Not even looked at my cabinet(s) since the FTTC cabinet was installed November last year.

I know the new PCP cabinet hadn't had the phone lines moved over from the old cast iron cabinet this time last year due to it wasn't fully closed and was empty when I looked inside.

But there is 3 cabs sitting there still, when I am out next I will have to take a look.

I know a G.FAST Pod wouldn't help most of the people on my cabinet if there was one fitted due to only the shops would be able to get it due to the distance.

What we really love about FTTP is that everything is via fibre now and we are now no longer using our copper line for anything, so its now terminated in the BT80.

So we now no longer loose our broadband and or our phone line when it rains or gets windy.

Hopefully yours doesn't go any lower.

Virgin need to do some tweaks to their upload rate if possible. I get 220Mbps down - great - but only about 10Mbps up.

I've recently ordered Zen FTTP at my new property. They initially stated it might take 4-6 weeks! However, thankfully, I ordered on the 13th & having the ONT box installed tomorrow!!! (If this damn snow holds off).

The FTTP line and grey exterior box is on the far left of my house and my office is on the far right - would they be able to run an exterior cable along the front of the property and put the ONT box in the office (where its situated atm is the dining room).

I must say I am very please with the customer service with Zen so far. I've opted for 80/20 for now as its £40/£42 a month Once i'm out of contract and it goes to £46 i'll plumb for the 152/30 @ £50 a month

They will install the ONT where the fibre comes in (i.e. far left side), but you could run an Ethernet Cable from the ONT to the far right where you can place your router.
