The usual coverage caveat applies with FTTP, which is that at present Openreachs network can only cover 560,000 UK premises (i.e. very few can take it) but they do expect to reach 3 million by the end of 2020 and possibly 10 million by around 2025.
I'm not sure how long it as taken to get to 560,000 premises (I'm assuming more than a year). But to reach 3 million it would need 1,220,000 new premises over 2 years, more than double what we currently have.
Then to get to 10 million between 2020 and 2025 would mean 1,400,000 each year for 5 years, nearly triple each year what we have now.
Overall that is a lot of FTTP network installing between now and 2025.
Maybe I'm in a slow area for FTTP building or something, but apart from most of the phone exchanges now having access to both FTTP and FTTPoD technology, how else can we, the customers, see how the FTTP is progressing?
Do the people in the know on here, see the figures behind the scenes that the FTTP network is growing?
