Regarding your part in bold
Openreach originally had the property down as not eligible for fibre based on distance from the cabinet!
That's the default message the OpenReach site gives when you are connected to a fibre enabled cabinet but the database thinks you can't order.
Glad you managed to get it resolved. Keep an eye on the
BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker for the cabinet showing as available. If someone cancels their service the checker will change to available for a short period of time until someone orders and the port is reserved for them.
So it's worth checking everyday!
