It is impossible to do any diagnosis from those very curtailed stats. The minimum required is the xdslcmd info --show

The difference between show and stats is that "stats" give a long breakdown of the errors that are summarised in "show". That breakdown is rarely needed.

What do you mean by g vectoring?

I disagree.

xdslcmd info --stats
is always the best commands to run when posting stats for others to help diagnose a line. It contains important framing parameters and a good breakdown of errors.

edit: usually too slow for his replies but I'll edit anyway. Framing is the same on both

G.Vector (Vectoring) is not an option you can configure.
It needs enabled on the DSLAM by OpenReach and requires additional hardware to be installed on the DSLAM first.

OpenReach aren't rolling out Vectoring.
It is only used on specific BDUK cabinets for boosting properties passed figures.

All the framing parameters from "stats" are present in "show" smile.

I maintain that the breakdown of the times errors occur, which is the only extra information in "stats, is rarely needed. When it is relevant, if BQM is running, which is frequently, the times are often already obvious.

It would have been far better if instead of "I disagree", which in effect covers the whole of my post, you had agreed with the far more important point than that minor one.

Connected my hg612 backup and getting worst stars. Getting lower sync though think Im not using g vectoring which should be better!?

xdslcmd info
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime
Retrain Reason: 0
Last initialization procedure status: 0
Max: Upstream rate = 19893 Kbps, Downstream rate = 57872 Kbps
Bearer: 0, Upstream rate = 19893 Kbps, Downstream rate = 59416 Kbps
Bearer: 1, Upstream rate = 0 Kbps, Downstream rate = 0 Kbps
is completely useless. The only thing we can gather from those is that downstream SNR has fallen considerably since sync-time.

As usual I was in the middle of editing my mistake while you replied smile
Slow down man I can't type that fast!

I was perhaps mixing the thoroughly useless info --state which it appears was originally posted.

I always/only use --stats are the breakdown of errors is extremely helpful.

So Ive lost a few mbs. Would you say there any change of any more speed with the Openreach modem or is is worth just connecting the Plusnet Hub backup. When Im home Ill run the other command and post the whole stats. Apologies.

As RobertoS pointed out we can tell very little from the limited stats posted.

The HG612 is a pretty old modem with an older Broadcom chipset and it's very possible the Plusnet Hub One/HH5A syncs better on your line.

Yep. I have two HG612s, and they were great in their time. But both sync about 2Mbps slower than my Zyxel VMG1312-B10A with the latest firmware flashed in, and my Billion 8800N R2 which recently died. I believe that Billion in fact contains a slower-sync'ing Broadcom chip than the R1, but it still beat the HG612s.

Even though the HG612 allows you to view more detailed stats, it's chipset is inferior to even many ISP provided routers, nowadays. You're best either using one of those or a more modern third party router with a BDCM chipset that allows you to access more detailed stats.
