When does FTTC become FTTP

I live 20 miles outside Glasgow and last year became FTTC where the cabinet is halfway to the exchange and on a good day get 25Mb. Will Openreach now forget about me or is FTTP a possibility.

Its a possibility but might be two years or 15 years away

FTTP might even arrive from someone other than Openreach

25Mb is alright, not amazing by all means but faster than 1.5Mb adsl a freind of mine is on with no upgrade to fibre any time soon.

BT FTTP, 74Mbps down, 20Mbps up

In the short term most of it depends on if the Scotland R100 product actually produces 30mbits plus for all. Medium term, competition will dictate when you will see fttp

Lucky you, i live in the east end of Glasgow and my cabinet isn't even upgraded to FTTC!

On standard BB i got around 8Mb so had no choice but to go with Virgin.

Or someone on the same DP might order FTTPoD, thus enabling the OP to order FTTP.

Given the low rate of FTTPoD orders accepted might as well say user might win the lottery and pay for a Gigabit symmetric leased line
