Deddington FTTP

A colleague at work lives in Deddington, Oxfordshire and says her broadband is rubbish. She says she heard about it being a BT pilot site but has heard nothing since and has been told that ADSL is her only option. From my research including the Information link on this site it looks like the project was completed and seems like the entire village should be covered. Does anyone know what the coverage is actually like in the village?

Is she close to the village centre, I thought it was all covered there ?

Which ISP - with some ISP they don't sell the FTTP service so it may be the only option without switching providers

Or there are a couple of locations outside village with just ADSL options

Like so many without knowing the location hard to say more

That's what it looks like to me and I think she lives in the centre. I hadn't thought to ask her what ISP she is with so perhaps that's the problem. Anyway next time I see her I'll suggest she make more enquiries

The easiest enquiry would be to put her address into the BT Wholesale checker.

Hi, my colleague has just put her phone number into the DSL checker the results it produces indicate Deddington, cabinet 3 and she only has ADSL available to her :-/

Update: Apparently she's renting and her property is one of several with a private courtyard. Looks like openreach were unable to get permission and now they've been left with lousy ADSL :-/
