Irony is PlusNet direct ADSL customers who have FTTP now as an option can apply to join a FTTP trial

Not anymore. PlusNet closed the FTTP trial back in July

So an 8 year trial which finished in July, and here we are over 4 months later and they still don't have an FTTP product........... Typical Plusnet

bt did suggest a fibre without voice at £57.50 a month!

Would they charge you a reasonable price for a *brand new* FTTP+voice service (with a new number), as opposed to migrating existing service?

If it's reasonable, then simply keep the Waitrose service running in parallel. Use the old copper line for voice calls.

Wait until the new FTTP service is installed. Run in parallel for a few weeks. Then when you're happy that the FTTP service is up and reliable, *then* you transfer the phone number to VOIP, which (as you say) will cease the old phone line and the attached ADSL service - which is what you want.

Not everybody fancies VOIP.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests 35-45Mpbs down, 9-15 up.

thanks to all who replied with suggestions, I find it funny that BT a communications provider cant communicate.
I have sent an e-mail to Gavin Patterson so hopefully his henchmen will know who and where to kick.

Strangely the original order for 12/12 installation is still active so perhaps someone will turn up wit a roll of fibre................

Quite, and they won't release any information as to if they will support a commercial fttp product, which i find slightly bizarre, I believe its down to training but that why you have a trail...

FTTP and pn is crazy atm

But also, if the FTTP trial was as pathetic its no wonder it took so long. I wonder if the live version when it comes will work.

As for IPv6, sheesh! smile
