Perhaps you live in an area with a small amount of subscribers on FTTC so there is less crosstalk enabling you to sync at max. rate? Maybe even vectored?

Take up is pretty high AFAIK, ADSL speeds are dreadful (1-2Mbps). It's definitely not vectored. It has been lower in the past but I've been at the full 80/20 for about three months with attainable around 83/25.
