Maybe a crosstalker was connected, then disconnected, but your line didn't pick up the original rate until you resynced the modem?
Could be. Odd that it dropped in the middle of the day though. The only known instance in nearly seven years. Just..odd smile

It was announced last February, and gradually became the default.

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2018/02/openre...

The article is quite poorly written (sorry Mark) as it makes no mention of the fact Huawei lines already did this (more than half the FTTC lines).

I believe interleaving is now the default for all new provisions, all DLM resets and for migrations that result in the DLM being reset. Not all migrations reset the DLM
This is the case for both ECI and Huawei lines.

With Huawei lines with a modem which supports it G.INP is applied on day 2.
If the line is stable DLM can drop the SNRM target to 5dB, 4dB then 3dB on days 4, 6 and 8.
This can occur over months for lines with higher error counts, not at all for others, or somewhere inbetween (some stick on 4dB or 5dB).

With ECI lines DLM will move a stable line to fastpath after 2 days.
It can take longer for noisier lines.
Many lines will stay interleaved.

Thanks John

I was moved from bt to pN on Monday and to the higher speed package

My line is on an ECI cab and Im interleaved

Sadly I still am. No resyncs. And my SNR has not moved at all from 6.3db

My max rate has stayed solid and there have been no errors logged.

Even on bt Fastpath I never had a resync so afaik my line is clean and stable

Just strange to see Im still interleaved if its meant to switch after 2 days

I have just had a long rural line moved from ADSL to VDSL on a Huawei cabinet so DLM is still settling.

I noted 151/0 Interleave Depth for the first day in DSLStats. At the first midnight it resynced the modem at 129/0 Interleave.

I am still at downstream INP 3.00 and G.INP disabled but will watch what it does overnight until it stops changing.

I wish mine would resync

The modem has been connected for just over a week now, when it moved from BT to Plusnet and without resyncing since DLM reset and the modem connected for the first time.

I can't see my interleaving stats, but my pings are around 9m higher than BT.

I did change the MTU to 1488 earlier today, that seemed to force and a re-auth but not a resync.

My experience with ECI cabs is that unless you are on a short line they seem to be very reluctant to remove interleaving.

When I moved and the fault on my line was fixed, I was on a fastpath connection for about 5 months until I got a series of disconnection in quick succession when Openreach were installing a new cabinet. The following day DLM interleaved this line and it's been that way ever since, almost 10 months now. It's not as if the downstream error rate is high, averaging around 1.2 ES per hour.

Thats a little disappointing to hear.

My Infinity 1 speeds were 55Mbps (maxed out) on fathpath - with an actual of 49-50Mbps.

Switch to PN and i'm on 51Mbps with an actual for 46Mbps - up to 80Mbps package; with interleaving on.

I can only hope it takes me off soon. I did have some power cuts a few months ago, it took approx 20 days to go back on fast path. I think it took longer because the HH5 at the time has a known habit of constantly resyncing itself every 5-7 days, issuing a user term req.

thanks for the info

AIUI FTTC cabinet Openreach modems don't recognise last gasp on disconnection.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

At the second midnight, Interleave Depth went right down to 4/1, INP went to 47.00 and as was predicted above, G.INP turned on.

Well its been 2 weeks since I switched from BT to PN and was immediately interleaved.

Not one resync by DLM or me.

Perhaps I should restart the modem. Doesnt look like DLM is acting at all. No idea whats gone wrong
