Re: FTTP Progress

Is there an Open reach remit to provide FTTP to all properties within reason across the country ? A bit like ordering FTTC or ADSL now ? Will there be any overlap of Virgin Media install areas ? We were lucky to be part of the Project Lightening roll out and get a big speed jump from the BT 40Mb to the VM 200Mb service.

There is a government aim to roll out FTTP to all by 2033, but we all know government track records.

Openreach has confirmed that they are going to be rolling out FTTP on the Almondsbury exchange within the next year (I'm on the Almondsbury exchange (I live in Almondsbury)). Currently there installing the main cables going down the A38 and they should start to provide service to customers next January.

Since nearly all of Bradley Stoke can get Ultrafast broadband ( 100mbps+ ) as-well-as decent FTTC speeds they probably won't start rolling out FTTP until 2021+ and probably won't reach your area until 2024.
