People assume BT equals all knowing but all too often due to the size its just someone whose hands are tied to computer says no.

What Andrew said. To expand slightly. Siebel is the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) used by an ISP as customer of Openreach to track orders and services. CSS is a workflow tool Openreach use to manage orders and the timeframes they are dealt with. Apparently they don't use one common address database!

I just went over to the property and took some photos of what I assume is the lines/pylons to the house.

Basically there seems to be what looks like a fibre line (it says "Warning Overhead Fibre!") that comes out the ground across the road from the property - then it goes up a pole that feeds across the main road and joins a shared elec/phone pylon. Elec seems to be fed to the house from a pylon further up the road, but TWO other lines seem to come out of this pylon to the property - fibre and copper perhaps...? At least one of which seems to originally come from the fibre pole across the road (amybe both it's hard to tell).

This fibre pole and relay pole seems to only feed one other property on Park Road (called Ansford, CF64 4HJ) - opposite the one I'm looking at. And having checked on this address, fibre seems to be available there too - which I take as a good sign:

I'd still want to be sure - and a bit worried about the address/duplicate issues causing a mess up in ordering any service. Who would you advise I talk to next...?

Your photos 14 and 15 (amongst others) show a BFT (blown fibre tube) manifold with what looks like one active service coming out the top. Maybe you can follow this and knock on their door?

I agree with the others regarding pics etc to look for fib manifolds:

From the looks of it if you purchase this property when you move in you should contact BT and request a 'data merge' of the 2 records - they have to request that from OR. I'm familiar with this which takes >2 weeks.

I had the same issue: 2 diff data entries for my property. One had fib, one not; couldn't order the fttp deals from the online checkers as the OR data told them I didn't have fib!

How many wires can one of these manifolds usually take? If another service was added (e.g. to the house I might buy!), would they add another wire from this and thread it across the road to the relay and then on to the property? Seems quite involved!?

I just got a reply from the Openreach chat person (after they referred on to someone):

"I�ve heard back regarding this and address #2 is being removed from our systems as it appears to be a duplicate that shouldn�t be there. I�ve checked address #1 and can see no reason you should have any issues ordering FTTP at that address."

Seems promising!!!

That pick as AL66 spotted has a fibre tube coming out of the top and these are only fitted when someone orders the service, so will only be present if the service is live.

So only worry is a duff retailer not noticing the two address issue - most common reason for two addresses is that a property at one time had two lines.

The blown fibre tube manifolds are 6,8 or 12 final connections if I recall.

In Wales this most often crops up with Welsh versus English spellings
