That part is how long is a piece of string...

Some say they've had coils like this on poles for four years with no progress, so it could be tomorrow or it could be four years time.

Had sort of covered the time problem with the later part, in that it needs not just the poles you can see but all the other elements to get done as well. So someone might be able to see 1km of manifolds, splitters and fibre joining them but due to 1 silted up duct on a road junction that is waiting on permission to close a road junction for roadworks you are left waiting.

MrS's original post was succinct, accurate, and contained the only useful information which could be extracted from the label (i.e. that the cable carries 36 fibre strands)

In my opinion, a post like that is perfect. It beats unfounded speculation hands down smile

People wanting to know more is always good, alas timescales are ones people have learnt to not even hazard a guess at and the label gives no idea of that.
