We can speculate till the cows come home, perhaps a better idea would be to wait and see how the Salisbury trail goes
This is true, but I doubt if there will be much broadband over copper by the end of 2025.

I frequently chuckle about this, from February 2008. Almost exactly only eleven and a half years ago.
But I think the next phase of internet is the volume i.e. the bandwidth. Because if you look at what the internet has been used for it has been used for email, surfing, file transfers and 1 or 2Mbps broadband is more than sufficient. The next generation of usage and users are going to download videos, stream soaps and so on and it's not speed that matters. Sure you need speed but 16Mbps is more than enough. What you need is the bandwidth.
Mary Turner, then CEO of Tiscali UK.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

It hasn't been launched yet - it's "imminent".

I thought you said your estimates were amended to match the neighbours?

It's also not a full blown launch.
It may not be available from Sky in every exchange they operate from right away.

Yes used to be but BTw has change it to correct speed estimated sadly

The big question is with plusnet, despite retraining all their staff for a [now] defunct trial they will not comment on fttp.

PlusNet only ever trained a relative handful of their staff to deal with FTTP.
Although their FTTP trial was closed to new applicants, everybody who was already on it was allowed to remain on FTTP.

Plusnet will never have g fast or fttp. They only want to keep budget ADSL/ADSL2/FTTC

And that's a fact is it?

That was the case for a large number of years, also on the forum they had only a few who would deal with fttp questions. That is no longer the case and now the trial is closed.

Why would you train more people on a closed trial?

Well even now there aren't a huge number of staff on the forum who are able to deal reliably with FTTP matters.

But I agree there are more than there used to be. And why? Probably because they have plans to announce a proper roll-out of FTTP when they've seen what the competition are up to pricewise etc.?

Pn has had the BT levels of labour applied to them. Every large business does this sadly

Bingo! They are just waiting for sky to fully release fttp. I expect the same for ee and also bt's competitors - ie voda and talk talk to fully go for it in 2020. It will be interesting to see how BT will keep their brands in the right tier
