ONT fault light

Hi all. the "fault" light on my ONT is illuminated. BB still works OK. am I right in my thinking that I need to change the rechargeable batteries in the BBU

I say go and try it.

How long have you had the ONT ?
I have had mine (old 4 data ports, 2 phone ports version) since October 2016 and had no hardware issues with it.

fitted in jan this year. (why is there never an openreach van parked nearby when you want one??)

It sounds like the �fault light� is on the BBU, because the fault indicator on the ONT itself is the LOS light.

You could just bypass the BBU and put the mains lead direct into the ONT.

I just tried that with mine and it blew up!
Or did you mean the power supply output lead? wink
