Openreach twitter confirmed its a VDSL pod due to go live Jan 2020 to increase capacity, although as far as I was aware the VDSL cab wasn't at capacity it must be nearly, it has had the extra side extension 2.5 years ago when it was full!

I always wondered why they installed the smaller cab for so many properties, when a couple of miles down the road they used the bigger HW cab for many less.

The PCP in your opening photo is a full size one. In fact possibly the largest physical size Openreach have ever had.

I didn�t even know Openreach were doing VDSL side pods. Interesting.

I thought g.fast was shaped like this

The cabinets maybe similar/same, but the contents are different.

Max, I think we know each other reasonably well. Sometimes I support you when others are shouting you down because of the way you post. When I do that, it's because you are right, but maybe you hadn't written it down well.

When anyone disagrees with witchunt's "suggestions", the odds are well above 99% that they are wrong.

When he repeatedly states someting as fact, which is very rarely, it is 100% certain he is posting from actual knowledge. I guarantee you and some others are wrong.

There is only one possible circumstance in which he could be wrong about this. That would be if Openreach documentation about that cabinet was wrong.
