The photo look much the same (should be G.fast) otherwise the VDSL side should be fitted on the FTTC cabinet side (not the PCP side)

No, it's a VDSL pod. I suggest you read the whole thread.
The cabinets maybe similar/same, but the contents are different.

I thought for some reason VDSL pod should be on the FTTC cabinet not PCP side?

IIRC from previous discussions, (well - one discussion), on these forums, additional VDSL2 pods can be either side.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

It's pretty easy to mix up and confusion.

The position of the FTTC cabinet is irrelevant. Cables for everything come in underground, and internal cabling between the pod and the PCP can route however it likes inside the PCP.

In every preceding post I deliberately made sure I avoided that presumption smile.

However I have reason to believe that the poster is male, but disclosing that reason could cause us to lose said poster.

Giving information of the kind we get is very much frowned upon within BT Group.

Hi witchunt

I think a lot of us amateurs (and also a few well respected professionals) have been confused. For me its the first VDSL pod on a PCP I've seen, although seen many G.fast pods on PCP's. Out of interest who manufactures them?

We are all now a little wiser thanks to you smile

Huawei. They are a relatively new addition to the network

I guess because of its bolt on nature, and general lack of civils, its a cheap option.
