Just to add to this, our fibre has gone live today on openreach checker and is available to order via BT retail today. Work seemed to be completed 2 weeks ago (last time Openreach van was near), surprised its gone live this week though given Christmas. Going to hold off ordering for a few weeks in hope that someone else starts offering FTTP due to the new year or Zen lower their prices to be near to BT's.

Feel really lucky for a our farm to get Fibre faster than almost all towns and cities.

Careful. Talk like that will upset those who feel Openreach intentionally persecute less urban areas out of spite.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.

I'm holding out as well. I'm on Virgin just now, so have a bit of luxury around available options.

BT is tempting but missed out on the prepaid card offered earlier on the month which would have been tempting when combined with the likes of Quidco.

The only good thing about BT is the semi predictability of the price rises which will be in the order of 80p to a £1 instead of the £2-3 Virgin usually try to push through each year.

Our FTTC cab went live Christmas day 2014 & I was the first person in the village to order & go live.

Now waiting on FTTP as the equipment is on the poles with the fibre coiled up hanging from the foot pegs. Just waiting on the fibre being pulled to the aggregation node, was supposed to be in Oct when BT had the village closed on roadworks.org but never happened supposed to be happening by March but no way of knowing...

Fingers crossed as got nothing but 4g right now & xbox updates are a huge problem lol

Can't wait for Gigabit fibre...

Well went and ordered BT yesterday. Install date of 17th January.

Open reach turned up at 8:30am today to rod the duct which was very quick, it's blocked, looking at it, my guess is, it's small stones that surround the pipe and dead snails. which were under the duct cover.

Dig has been approved and the engineer said would be in 7-10 days. Sadly the BT app is now showing install has slipped to 17 Feb with PSTN still on for 17th Jan.

Are they likely to charge for a month of phone line rental I don't want or need?

I'd imagine most ISPs are likely to wait until March when the new pricing comes in.
