Have you counted the number of ports? Reason being they are supposed to build with 120% capacity according to rules I was told. Though this was in respect to established streets rather than new build

I know mid last years if you had a 4 Port ONT and there were still ports available on the DP then you could order it.

When I was enquiring about faster upload speeds with BT's FTTP team, they told me I could order up to another 1 to 3 FTTP installs.

And when I asked if I would require additional ONT's and they did a check and said that no extra hardware was needed due to already having a 4 port ONT installed and the only hardware needed would be additional routers.

They went on to say that they just send the additional connections down that same fibre and that the ONT would send each of the additional connections to data port 2, 3 and 4, depending on how many I ordered.

But looking at the extra price required just to get the faster upstream bandwidth it wasn't worth it.

But like I said this was about mid last year, so stuff might of changed since then.

You have the benefit of a 4 port ONT. In the OP's situation Openreach stupidly say they can no longer provide them so the OP cannot get 2 FTTP services on one incoming fibre and there is no capacity for a second fibre. Openreach are just being obstructive and inflexible as usual, the 4 port ONTS must still be available which would solve the problem.

We have actually fed back to our BT account manager a number of times that a single port ONT should be standard, but they should at least offer, even for an extra cost, a 4 port solution. General feedback coming back the other way is no one is listening.

Alas the big names of Sky,TalkTalk,Vodafone and BT will hold the sway and if with the price pressures a marginally cheaper ONT will often win the day
