a neater solution is to use a filtered faceplate which does away with the plug in splitter (hides it all in the faceplate basically) most filtered faceplates give the option of running a cable to adifferent location just for the router. any more questions just ask away

One thing to consider is the telephone service provision, as this may move over to be internet (VoIP) based rather than traditional copper wire analogue based. I mention this as I recently changed ISP, now with Sky, and they moved me to a VoIP style connection (SOGEA), and that means your master phone (Dect is ok) plugs in to your router, not the landline master socket (which no longer provides telephony capability).
