anyone know about the router question I asked?
Are you asking if going from a WiFi 5 (ac) to WiFi 6 (ax) wireless router will make a difference to your ping in gaming?
What causes ping to go up is when your "bandwidth" (capacity) is used up by multiple people downloading, streaming, updating games etc, at the same time. You can have a slow connection of 10 Mbps and have a very low ping.
Going from WiFi 5 (ac) to WiFi 6 (ax) increases capacity, but won't help the ping if your network is not maxed out.
Using an ethernet connection would be best and a LOT cheaper. WiFi 6 is expensive at the moment
(I am using an ASUS RT-AX88U which is a WiFi 6 router on my Virgin cable connection. and I see no difference to my older RT-AC88U apart from the support of WPA 3).
