Removal from FTTP Rollout

[link to this post]

Hi all,
A month ago I checked on OR fibre checker and FTTP was coming soon and I noticed some streets near me had had their fibre installed. (At the time I only had basic DSL)
Then I checked again today and now FTTC is available but "there is no plans to upgrade my area soon" for FTTP
Have openreach just cheaped out and done fttc and why would a property be removed from the rollout especially when the nearby streets hadn't?
Thanks.

Do you have any stats for your current ADSL connection ?

18 down to 3.5 smacks of an issue somewhere.

I think it could be a damaged line as the wiring is very old as the phone line is still marked as GPO (house is circa 1870)

And how far are you from te exchange? That is what matters, not the cabinet.

157ms ping time is suspicious.

Are you testing over wifi, or via a direct ethernet connection?

Are you sure nothing else is downloading during the time you do the test? Things like software updates perhaps?

For starters, it's wifi to a mobile or tablet. Especially at 7pm at a weekend during lockdown. (I'm assuming Android devices aren't being connected by ethernet smile ).

Edit: Just realised that could seen as "getting at you". There is no such intention. Just observation/info from the speedtest.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, sites and mail hosting - Tsohost & Ionos.
Connection - Three B311 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up. 1+ 8 Pro max 80Mbps down, 24Mbps up.
