I know this is very frustrating and I have been in the very exact same position. Just over a year ago I was on a plan to be upgraded to FTTP. But it got reverted back to FTTC because my building management team EastendHomes refused to give wayleave agreement to both Openreach and Hyperoptic.

In October 2019 I finally got upgraded to FTTC from an EO Line. I was not excited, but disappointed and satisfied at the same time. A mixed bag of feelings. I wanted FTTP and I coudn't get it because my management said that Fibre wasn't a priority for them at this stage.

It is frustrating when wayleave issues come as a barrier in getting a better quality service, but it is what it is and there is nothing we can do about it. The most we can do is be happy that we at least got FTTC.

The building next to me also managed by EastendHomes were also in plan for FTTP and they were supposed to get FTTC by January and it is still on a plan. I'm lucky that at least Openreach got me connected on time and didn't delay things.

Another building also had FTTP as a plan by same management team and it got reverted to "We don't have a plan for your area yet".

The most likely scenario is that you have suffered from the same issue that has happened with my building. Wayleave agreement with private landowners/management team has blocked Openreach from making FTTP possible. And as we all know with these disruptive building management teams, it can take years to convince them to sign an agreement!

I'm a Hyperoptic Champion of my building and I couldn't get my housing estate management EastendHomes to agree wayleave last 5 years.

You can imagine that it would indeed be better to have FTTC in the meantime than to wait in more agony with ADSL and hope FTTP comes. This is a very long process, waiting for FTTP wayleave agreement and then installation starting and completing can take another 10 years or more.

I've seen this first hand with Hyperoptic with many buildings, it took them at least another 3 years after the permission was granted for the service to go live. There's no guarantee that just being on ADSL would really increase your chances of getting FTTP faster. The same tedious wayleave problems will exist because management team won't give a damn about our internet reliability or speed. With FTTC there aren't any building agreement issues to depend on, so it is the simplest and easiest service to get upgraded to.

And how is everything connected up in your house ? Are you plugged into an extension, or have you tried at the test point on the main socket ?

Hi there's no extension that I'm aware of but I am using a micro filter on the master socket.
I don't think that there is a test point as it's the LJU2 BT line jack. I'm unsure of the wiring

And the line is noise free when tested with a phone ?

Yes it is noise free
I think it's an issue with the WiFi as when on ethernet I average around 12mbps down and .9 up so I will try switching channels
