I live in an Openreach Fibre First city. According to their map, my address and indeed the area falls within their yellow (to indicate work is to be begin within 3 months), highlighting. I entered my postcode and address into the Openreach checker, and the feedback is no plans to upgrade my area yet. I entered a different address, just down the road and out of the same cabinet, and the feedback is fibre is coming to your area soon.
Our cabinet is a G.Fast cabinet in fact the whole area is pretty well covered by G.Fast. Out of curiosity I looked into this further and came up with: any G.Fast addresses that have speeds or capable of receiving speeds (according to the BT Wholesale checker) that exceed the available Fibre on demand speeds seem to feedback with fibre is not coming to your area yet. Addresses that have G.Fast and those, of course that don't have G.Fast that fall below the Fibre on Demand speeds feedback with fibre is coming to your area soon.
My question is: because I am currently getting 330/50 will I miss out on the current roll out for our area, even though other addresses out my cabinet and addresses surrounding mine are included in the current plans? Hope this all makes sense.
Thanks for any help you give.
