Re: Full Fibre 900 speeds??

Posting the link to the speed test results will help show if its a cap on your speed, i.e. very quick rise to a maximum speed or whether speeds are varying a lot.

See plenty of people posting decent 900 down 100 Mbps up results on the BT 900 service.

great and i presume it is a case of going to speedtest.net getting the result then opting to share on here is that correct?

as you say most are saying they are getting the full speeds on fibre 900 so was hoping for the same.

Thanks

Much better to use the TBB Speed Tester as this will show how the speeds change or develop over the duration of the test. You can then link the result to a post in this forum.

No update i am afraid and still not getting full speeds, rang BT and she ran a test to show i am getting just over 500download and with it being just above the threshold she basically face palmed me.

Feel slightly aggrieved as i see most getting full 900 speeds but i cannot.

I would make a complaint, you are on the 900 package over FTTP there is no up to 900, even their product page states "910Mb - 910Mb Your download speed" so the people you have spoken to at BT that have said this are confused between the packages that they sell.

The Stay Fast Guarantee of 455Mbits is when you can claim £20 if they cannot resolve it within 90 days.

I would phone again and if no joy ask them to put you through to their complaints team.

That's what I would do.

Paul

the lady is due to give me a call back tomorrow as she wanted me to switch back to the smarthub from the xr500 and leave it on for 48 hours, i will play ball but not convinced this will fix the speeds but who knows.

If she can not resolve and simply leaves with saying its at least 500 then liek you say i will make a complaint.

Since you are connecting the Smarthub back up for 48 hours can you do some speed tests (multi-threaded speedtest.net + TBB Tests) at about 1am to 2am (if you can) and also at 3 to 5 pm and show the results.

I say at 1 to 2 am which is when most people are not using their connection, and also in the evening.

These tests will also rule out if its your Netgear Router or not if you get the same with the Smarthub cunnected.

Using my own netgear XR500 router which does allow 1gig, however i have only seen speeds over the weekend of around 500 download.

Your speeds are too low.

I have two XR500 routers - one connected to the ONT and which serves this PC, then another one upstairs connected to my home server and wireless points. I was getting around 730Mb down on the double-natted one upstairs on various testers.

Using the one downstairs (connected to the ONT) shows again around 730 from TBB:

Google is similar, but Ookla shows pretty much 900:

I would say something's up in your case!

EDIT: This is with Cerberus, I regraded my connection earlier in the week as my FTTPoD contract had expired.
