FTTP Coming Soon

[link to this post]

Hi All,
Over the past couple of weeks we have had open reach contractors on our street doing what looked like pulling cables and when I now go on the open reach site it says that FTTP is coming to my street soon.

Whats odd is my area isn't on any of the lists I've seen to be included in their roll out, can anyone advise where I should be looking?

Also roughy from the point of them cabling the street roughly how long is it until they commission the service?

Just trying to temper my excitement of not fighting with the family on who gets to stream at a given time smile
Thanks

Could be a month or six months or more

Not all the deployments are on the lists, new build properties from the last 2 decades are commonly not on any announced lists, i.e. random estates appearing with FTTP all over

Coming soon means subject to the project manager checking.

My address was coming soon, but the project manger found the cables are all buried it now says not coming.

Coming soon means subject to the project manager checking.

It does not.

The OpenReach checker only gives 3 possible outcomes on an FTTP check.

No plans for FTTP.
FTTP Coming Soon.
FTTP is available to order.

FTTP coming soon simply means it's planned but not yet available to order.
It can be anywhere between just announced and zero work done all the way through to work is complete but waiting for audit.

It has no specific meaning regarding project managers or anything else.

Not true my address was coming soon.

Now it's not planned, this was due to armoured leads - confirmed by Openreach.

What part of what you said didn't I cover?

It means nothing but it is planned. Plans can and do change.

The message has nothing to do with project managers or what stage the build is at.

I did say...

It can be anywhere between just announced and zero work done all the way through to work is complete but waiting for audit

It's simple

MINE SAID IT WAS COMING SOON.

Openreach then said it's not feasible due to armoured leads.

The check now says not planned.

Simple really - FTTP planned is not 100% you're getting it.

Thanks

They could say 'coming soon but in a small number of cases we sometimes discover things that may mean the plans have to change, and therefore it is possible for some people that you may drop back to no plans'

I never said it was 100% your getting it

FTTP Coming soon simply means it's planned, whether work has started or not.
Plans change and sometimes it will revert back to no plans.

You said some nonsense about it meaning something to do with a project manager.
It doesn't.

No idea why you had to argue that correction. Have at it.
