Fiber newbie - help please

[link to this post]

I have just had gigalclear FTTP installed.
Do I run the lead from my pc to the router or to the box on the wall?
If the box on the wall, please can anyone link to a picture of what the underside looks like, as I am physically and sight disabled and connecting the cable will be guesswork!.

It would be a cable between their box on the wall and the router, then either a cable or wifi between the router and your PC.

Typically with other FTTP providers it’s as per Zarajaz’s instructions above.

However it should always be possible to connect directly to the providers NTE (the bit of provide kit plugged into the fibre service) with a direct laptop connection for testing purposes, but in general a permanent connection would shared out via a router / WiFi plugged in after the Gigaclear NTE.

I’m surprised that Gigaclear have sent no instructions on how their setup should be done. Could their helpline assist you - 01865 591 131 ?

If you are sight disabled and the Technician has set your router up for you. Just plug into the router or use WiFi.

The technician should have done the service enabling for you , otherwise read or have read the instruction from the link Andrew posted and carefully follow them.
