I have asked in the email to the BT OpenReach CEO office for someone from only BT OpenReach to come and sort it out.

The install was an internal one, he did *splice* the 'Green SC-APC ' ONT connector on, I did challenge him about the External CSP used inside, that's all he had got.

Very strange indeed.

The CSP should only be needed to house the splice, where the inside and outside fibres are spliced together.
The internal fibre cables have the green SC-APC connector pre terminated.

If the engineer has had to attach the SC-APC connector then he's presumably used a single length of connectorised cable, cut to length at the property end, with the SC-APC connected then attached.

It makes me wonder what on Earth the CSP was even fitted for.
Could you take a peek (and a picture) inside the CSP when you get a chance.

He may have fitted it just because you were asking for 1.
Or even worse he has actually spliced 2 fibres but hasn't used the pre terminated 'inside out' fibre.

Definitely report it to Openreach, it's important that these issues are highlighted. I've seen plenty of bad experiences either when an M J Quinn parks on the same street (some work that then impacts other lines due to a poor job) or at the least just affects the property they are doing work at/for.

A couple of years ago I had a negative experience with M J Quinn, indirectly. I was waiting for a taxi as I was going away for a few days. When I saw such a van park in the street I had a feeling it was a bad sign. Unfortunately I was spot on, the 'engineer' crossed my line with someone else's line so I had to report the fault after which a little later an actual Openreach engineer arrived to resolve the fault.

I count myself fortunate in having an actual Openreach engineer when it came to the FTTP install here, probably because it was FTTPoD. Only had one minor issue which he quickly resolved, but that was due to the fact it was raining and a slight bit of rain had got on the pole end of the optic cable. Otherwise a smooth installation!

I got a Kelly's engineer - he couldn't get the fibre through the duct because of 90 degree/T junction but mainly did a good job and I wouldn't complain (especially as one of hottest days) except he messed up my copper connection so left without broadband/phone. A pair of Open Reach guys turned up two days later and took several hours sorting fibre out so I doubt he'd have managed and wasn't faking the duct issue

just to add - today an OpenReach engineer turned up to get fibre in, only 2 weeks after completed!
