What a choice !

Viewed a property on a new build estate in Liphook, Hants today.

https://www.redrow.co.uk/developments/maple-walk-lip...

Not only did each property have Openreach FTTP there, but Hyperoptic too. Two separate fibres coming in, two separate ONT’s.

Good stuff from Redrow homes.

Seen this in my manor. Ducts PIA unbundled to Hyperoptic on build.

Are Hyperoptic on the Genexis ONTs still? They're one of the ISPs where the support pages haven't kept up with the equipment you might have installed, unfortunately.

I wonder how they are building their network - OLTs in cabinets or PIA all the way back to exchanges?

I live in a newish build (2016). We’ve had Virgin Media available since day 1, Openreach FTTP became available in June this year and just this week CityFibre have been digging in fibre.

CityFibre have made a bit of a mess of the roads and pavements when they could have used PIA, but hey ho.

I’ve got Openreach FTTP (900/110) which I’m more than happy with, but it’s good to know I have the choice of the Virgin and CityFibre networks as well.

CityFibre want to be considered a 3rd national network, so using PIA sort of goes against their ambitions. If they can get the funding to do their own digging then why not.

Trooli are from my manor. They were known as Call Flow originally set up by ex BT boss and had a wireless system at first in non-dsl areas and then did FTTC sub loop unbundling before BT deployed.

Interestingly they are now being overbuilt by Lightning Fibre in one of my local towns. Obviously both being are being funded by monster investment banks

The new build opposite mine (SW London) which is around the same size development, but the project probably started about 1 year later, has Openreach FTTP and Hyperoptic. My building is FTTC only (trying desperately to get Hyperoptic installed).
