What about an an 'Aerial Drop wire (fibre) ' ??? is that possible.
Do you mean, do they exist ? Then yes, they do.

But in the OP’s case, I’d suspect that all the network is underground, so no CBT up a pole to start with.

My guess is, as someone else has suggested, that the blockage is the covering over the duct mouth within the building. Seen it quite a few times.

It's in front of the warehouse shutter, so I expect this falls under the leased area.

That's the odd thing, they sent around 5 technicians in 4 vans and couldn't work it out between them! I have to assume the existing copper was installed around the same time the building was completed, so someone has done a nice neat job but with no regard for future expansion.

Leased line, so some of the install costs are covered up to nearly £3k I think. Boss has said we wouldn't go ahead with it if we have to pay extra and there'd be digging involved. ISP were 90% confident this wouldn't happen. LOL

This is almost 100% the case here. The OR engineers that visited site showed me a plan on a phone, showing the fibre path through the car park/share entrance. But the data stopped at the cover in the ground. Previously the only wires into the building were for ISDN, but that's been here forever.

I have to share these classics:

I think the middle one is the most appropriate for your situation smile

So not considering having a cautious dig to look for the duct end where is comes up? small Hilti would do the job no need for a Paddys motorbike.

If they left it to me, it would be a Time Team style tiny chisel and toffee hammer affiair. Boss is sorting someone to come in and have a go. I've laid out the risks so my conscience is clear smile

Ah good old Dilbert, when it was good (and old).

I didn't even mention the earlier situation in this process where Talktalk claimed their equipment was already installed at the exchange but OR disagreed. Nothing was done until someone went to photograph an empty space where a rack cabinet should have been... dealing with geniuses here.

Thats good news, not sure I could sit back and watch someone else have a go wink
