Re: Openreach VDSL - SNRm reduction & G.INP

[re: planetf1] [link to this post]

For info, the initial sync was like this (in more detail)

Attainable throughput kbit/s 63340 14391
Current throughput kbit/s 61894 14160
Min. effective data rate kbit/s 61862 14155
Seamless rate adaptation off off

Latency fast fast
Impulse Noise Protection (INP) 44 50
G.INP on on

Signal-to-noise ratio dB 6 6

Zen told me it wasn't banded... but .... !

11,999 with an snrm of 7 certainly looks banded.
It's about a 1 in 1500 chance that you sync exactly on a banded figure. Add to that the higher than target current SNRM and the upstream sync being well below the attainable rate and it's more likely than not the line was banded.
If you ever synced at that figure more than once then that confirms it.

Ask Zen to run a GEA test. It shows the DLM profile from 13 days ago (before the reset).

And an overnight resync to around 64 Mbps (and a change in G.INP values plus a shift to 5dB SNRm). So making progress!

Then this morning another bump
G.INP 44/46
Speed: 69158/14269
SNRm 4/6

Nice to see the reset worked, and only 4.5 days to get close to before. It's possible there may be one more bump maybe to 3dB. (before was around 71400 D/S) but we're very close.

And a final (I assume ) bump as the SNR target is reduced

Speed: 72218/14633
G.INP: 45/45
SNRm: 3/6

These figures are pretty much spot on what I had before my issues. Very happy with this week's change!
