I am not in any ay as capable to opine on this as several others have but I found this on the web.
Don't know if relevant.

"A VPN can certainly decrease the ping you have in your online games. Basically, VPN packets tend to take a more direct route than your normal ISP packet. A good VPN service should allow the information to flow more freely from your computer to the server of the game you are playing.18 Apr 2022"

All vpn’s tested only adds latency +2ms, shorter routes taken no effect on gameplay.

I see what you mean I have FTTP I’m the only one in our area exchange that has it everyone has vdsl or vdsl2 gfast. Our area is reckoned 2023-24 for an fttp upgrade, it that helps any.
I still get perfect 920 110.

I assume from that that you had FTTP on demand provided and therefore think you re the only one on the PON. However there may be others in the Head end exchange that also have FTTP and will be on the same PON. It s extremely unlikely that they will have provided a new PON just for you.

If there are very few people on FTTP on teh Head end exchange it may be that there is only a 1g Cable link and someone other than you is swamping it and causing your issue.

Have you taken and used the same PC and monitor at your brother's house? I'm wondering if the issue if with your gaming rig?

Also, just to verify: same router (and config) at both venues/swap the routers between the 2 houses and see where the fault ends up.

Vodafone Fibre (Superfast2 - 80/20), Draytek 130, DrayTek 2925, DrayTek AP-910c x 2
(Gone but not forgotten: AP-700, 2820n x 2, 2800vg, 2800, HG612)

That seems fairly unlikely, as they would have to be on the same splitter as the OP to be on the same PON.

It *could* be the case that there was an existing splitter in the right place, and the FTTPoD only installed a CBT. Or the FTTPoD installed a new splitter, and Openreach later connected other properties to it at their own expense. But in either case, there would likely be other FTTP nearby.

Congestion on the cablelink is possible, but again, a BQM should show that.

What we're being told is that BQM is good but gameplay is bad. That doesn't really make much sense. As has already been suggested, this points the finger at the local PC, LAN or router.
