Hmmm, no joy so far although I was using an ancient dd-wrt build on a linksys 320, so I probably need to try with something a little more recent.
You just have the ethernet i/f set as a dhcp client? I don't have any pppoe login details so I presume it doesn't work like that.

Still no joy using soho routers but I connected my laptop directly to the media converter and got an ip address, so some progress at least. Can't connect to the internet so I assume I need a vlan ID, anyone know what BeFibre use?

I've just joined so I can monitor this thread and your efforts sprozen.
I've ordered befibre and have been told It will be an adtran supplied. There will be no Linksys available because they haven't even got to trial stage.
My existing setup is with an RT-AC88U which I want to keep for now and use it with a media converter as Liam126126 has suggested.
If would be helpful if Liam126126 could post what settings he has used on his router.

I figured it out eventually, you need the vlan id and it's available on the routing page of the Adtran ui, you'll see WAN.nn and nn is the id you need. You then just set the interface to dhcp with that vlan id and you're away.
I've had a Linux device (a laptop but the principle holds) connected to the interwebs without the router (just using a tp link media converter (MC220L). I don't expect to have any trouble using my pfsense router.

Hi all - looks like you guys may be able to help me!
Im about to sign up with Hey Broadband and they are offering me the choice of the Adtran 814-V6 or the ONT.
A quick Google suggests that the Adtran 814-V6 isnt at all bad in terms of functionality or reliability... at least in vanilla form. Am I wrong?
Specifically it does seem to offer bridge mode.
Ideally I need the ability to both be able to use bridge mode with my own router most of the time, and router mode occasionally when I need my router for other duties... All my previous ISPs' routers gave me the option to switch between modes.
Does anyone had experience of using this router's 'advanced' features when it has been supplied by Hey Broadband?
@highlander317 - you mentioned a 'support' login. Was this from Hey Broadband?
When you log in with this account, are all features available?
TIA!

Hey buddy. Just came across this as had befibre installed today and this Adtran is pants.
I have a Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 that I used with my old ISP and would love to use this.
Have you successfully managed to get rid of the Adtran, if so please advise what you bought to replace it and what config was needed..
Thank you

Hi all, about to go live with be and their infamous router, I would like to bin it and go into my Eero pro 6 mesh, so the tp-link converter is this the one people are using?
