No apology necessary - I greatly respect your posting across TB. I've no idea how we got into this fine mess with recent ping pong postings. Most be this hot weather that is affecting my judgement over the past few days. Sorry.

Just to say, Zzoomm is installed and working. she had a bit of a problem drilling though the wall, tough old house. she even filled in the holes that were already there.

I took their router off as soon as they left and put mine on, but i had a problem with it keeping connection, it was as if they were knocking it off, it uses Dynamic IP, well that what I had to use to even connect. what i did is used the mac clone function of my router and put in their router mac address and so far no more problem. Was that the problem? i don't know, but it has stayed connected since.

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/16868130504...

Made a difference when redoing Windows on the PC, but not made any difference with streaming to be honest. But as I said before it was not the speed, but the price.

anyway, done, dusted, working, now need to sort out cables when it gets a bit cooler./

LUCKY BOY!!!!! FTTP at last!!!! while I sat here miserable grumpy with no FTTP in plan! Think I should BLOODY move to other area with Full Fibre

Here we go again, you pop up every few months taking threads off topic moaning about your lack of speed, what is your 80/20 broadband not allowing you to do? i am on 80/20 and everything works fine.

You were on g.fast you decided to move back to 80/20 and here you are moaning again.

As title, I got a letter from Zzoomm yesterday, just my address, but different from the normal stuff they send as this was in an envelope I presume because I went through the motions of ordering until I got to pick the day for installation.

anyway, they have offered a 500Mb/s for £24.95 for 12 months, which is pretty good I must admit, telephone offer only, also 1Gb/s for £29.95. Got until the end of this month to order if I want it.

I think this thread's now done isn't it. All questions answered. Adrian has popped the champagne and is now drinking happily from the fountain of FTTP.

Everyone happy and can go home satisfied 😎

A rubbish statement from you.

My query to Adrian was simply to ask if he ditched his landline number or moved it into VoIP.

And

Seeing the connection speed he was now enjoying, it was clear to me that he had got a very good deal, but I wanted to check that the price he was paying was indeed sub £25. Personally I don't see that being a sustainable business pricing model for any ISP.

We have all been subjected to numerous posts of his every move of getting FTTP installed that we might as well have a final curtain call on this matter.

I don't believe you have any idea of what stalking actually is with your contribution to this thread being entirely unnecessary.

I thought you replied to a Max post, so it looked like you were asking Max.

I never used my landline, I have had VoiP for over 11 years, when I went from ADSL to a wireless network.
I am paying £24.95 a month for a 500Mb/s package, it is a 12 months offer. their normal offer is £19.95 for the first 3 months and then £34.95 for that speed on a 12-month plan.

Not sure how you can enjoy a connection speed, a slow connection speed can be annoying, but once you get over the speed that allows you to do stuff, then it makes no odds.
As I have said before, I was fine with 36Mb/s, the only difference having a faster speed have really made so far is when I decided to re-install windows on the PC. Websites are a bit faster, streaming is no different.
I got it because it was a good price

NO WAY - I NEVER JOIN VIRGIN MEDIA NOT IN A LIFETIME.

Then stop complaining about lack of speed when the option is available to you. I know Virgin is not perfect, I know a few people using it and some have problems, others don't, but it is their only option which is why they are sticking to it. One did move from Virgin back to FTTC and then decided to go to mobile broadband, They say it is fine until someone comes along with FTTP.

sometimes as i found out you have to bite the bullet for different reasons, mine was price more than anything.
anyway I have to go to work sadly
