Here we go again, you pop up every few months taking threads off topic moaning about your lack of speed, what is your 80/20 broadband not allowing you to do? i am on 80/20 and everything works fine.

You were on g.fast you decided to move back to 80/20 and here you are moaning again.

.

This thread went off-topic a long time ago, but do I care? nah, not one bit.

I think this thread's now done isn't it. All questions answered. Adrian has popped the champagne and is now drinking happily from the fountain of FTTP.

Everyone happy and can go home satisfied 😎

I would not go as far as saying drinking happily from the fountain of FTTP, I am using it and while i admit that it have been useful in getting my PC back up and running in that it was quicker to download Windows and games, anything else it has made no real difference.,
As i said before, we go on about having super-duper speed, but for a lot of people it makes very little difference. After the 12 months, i will drop the speed to 150.

What a terrible burden you shoulder, first of all they offer you fibre but then they make sure it is super fast. How do you cope? Oh the humanity! tongue

I did not want fibre in the first place, but providers decided to increase the price of FTTC to force us to it, but they lost out as I went for an Altnet.

I did not want G.fast in the first place for long while but did ended up having G.fast sync at 160/30 then upgraded to 244/40. Downgraded back to SoGEA 80/20.

Now I don't want FTTP, but now I do want FTTP!

Er?

But you want faster speed, I am not that bothered, the only difference I have seen really is downloading some files for the PC when I re-installed windows and my VPN connects faster. sure, some sites load a bit faster, but it is not a game changer. But it is in now

It should be more reliable, not something you've had issues with. I'm hoping my local alt net will be available soon (construction is in sight) because both Openreach FTTC and Virgin Media coax cable are ironically problematic due to the age of the cabling here. Completely separate to speed.

So 800+ posts of will I, won’t I and should I, or not, and you are still dithering, dallying and just about to cancel whilst on the vinegar strokes. Why am I not surprised ?
This thread alone has over 120 posts. Maybe a quarter to a third by Adrian. As far as ways to keep your point count rising rapidly and avoid feeling lonely and ignored if it goes relatively quiet in the cesspark go it's working well.
That is a debatable point. If someone posts a reply to you yourself asking a question, do you most often reply? I expect you do. It's normal behaviour.

What then if five people ask you questions and you reply to each? Each of their post counts go up by one. Yours goes up by five.
