Indeed you're mistaken. They use blue rope to pull cable. It'll be a purple microduct the fibre will be blown through.

Was just going to post the same observation. It was a bit of a pointless post made by zyborg47

it wasn't a pointless post by Adrian because it got corrected and if somebody searches for "phone pole purple rope/tubing" this will come up..

Noted but equally the message might not have been commented on.

It's not the nylon rope they use, looks more like a conduit of some type and only the pole at the top of the road has it. Photo attached

From only VM having fibre, we now have CF, Grain and OR, absolutely no coordination as all doing the same areas at the same time 🥴

Fingers crossed they don't skip us like VM

Blue rope attached to the purple ducting / subduct to pull it through.
Openreach are switching to a white rope now.

Purple duct is used by Altnets for FTTP.

Green is often used, typically / historically harking back to the CATV networks of yore and by Virgin to this day. Also the duct network built by our friends at G.Network at fabulous expense and many others.

Then again folks like Gigaclear and up in Scotland they like to use orange (whereas down sarf that’s used for connecting traffic signals). Go figure. 😂

Is this a fibre duct and any idea how long before they start further work?

Trying to figure whether to renew or not as out of contract next month

I am colour-blind, so would not notice the difference when I see it. Never seen a microduct as fibre have not been blown though around here,
i would love to see it being done.

Hi there!

We are not sure of the area in question, but we are working hard on expanding our network all over the country, so if you could reach out to us via email at [email protected] or phone at 0333 332 1111, or via some of our Social Media Channels (like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) we could look into the status of the area's progress, how far are we from getting there and making the connection happen. We do hope that we eventually cover your area too, and have you join us on board!
