I've never had a problem contacting Openreach. They replaced a footway chamber lid when an altnet ripped the frame out the ground trying to get into it within a week, and had a barrier around it the morning after I reported it.

After FTTC moved onto a waiting list I contacted Openreach to ask what I was meant to do about moving provider at the end of my contract term, and received a reply letting me know when FTTP was planned to arrive. When I then got an email saying that I had been dropped from the build plans I emailed back again, and they explained that they'd sent out updates in error, I was still in scope, and every few months I receive an email from a named person at Openreach to let me know that things are still progressing as planned.

They are far better to deal with than Cityfibre, in my experience.

The exchange I am interested in belongs to the Holyhead group of 9 exchanges. The Holyhead exchange is shown in the list as 'building now'. 4 of the other exchanges are listed and shown as 'building in the future' and 4 are not listed.

What do you think that Openreach will do about proividing FTTP in the exchange areas that are not listed?

They will add them to their build plans as and when they are ready to do so.

OR are aiming to have ~85% FTTP coverage by December 2026, but they haven't published plans to build in all those areas yet. Every three months or so they re-issue the plan, and add new exchange areas each time.

It would be silly to try to make up-front plans right up to the Dec 2026 horizon. There's only so much they can plan and build at once, and it's a rolling programme.

Not everyone has broadband but the majority do and/or have internet access via their mobile phone.

We ALL know that you have a downer on BT and OR but in your own word (I have never had to contact them).

True, i never had to contact Openreach and when they came here to sort out my Internet a few years ago they were ok, they did not fix the problem as they had no idea what it was, but they were ok.

My problem is with all large companies that seem to want to take over everything and knock out all smaller competition, including the one i work for.

You might want to give up on everything then. This is the way of the World.

Openreach may have announced, but they only did one or two streets and then once Zzoomm came they seemed to have come alive.

Yet again you are making things up. Just because you make something up and want what you have made up to be true, it does not make it true.

Clearly Openreach announced their build before Zzoomm in Hereford.

Lucky you, I have thankfully not had to contact them

Now you are making yet more things up that you admit you have absolutely no experience of and nothing to support your allegation that people are unable to contact Openreach about leaning poles or other unsafe plant.

People who come to the forum seeking advice may not be aware of your habit of offering untruths and stuff that you have made up. This seriously diminishes the quality of the forum for visitors.

Not making things up at all.

The pole have been leaning for years, it is surrounded by trees. the manhole cover was left off, I did not see that, but I did see the door ajar on the cabinet as I said I went to do some shopping yesterday to Lidl and I pass the cabinet.

Believe what you want to believe, I don't care, if you want our broadband network to be run by one huge monopoly then that is up to you.

Everyone has a right to their opinions but we all have to draw the line at fake news (even you Adrian although you may not realise you're doing it) sadly you have provided several in this thread and in many others threads, be it about Broadband , Covid vaccinations as well as many other things.

Yet again you are making things up. Just because you make something up and want what you have made up to be true, it does not make it true.
Yet again you lack any respect, and have a total disregard towards the wisdom of those who've been both on here, and operating in this field, likely far longer than you have.

Now you are making yet more things up that you admit you have absolutely no experience of and nothing to support your allegation that people are unable to contact Openreach about leaning poles or other unsafe plant.
I am going to +1, specifically I have lived in an 1800s community with clay soil type and noted many poles were leaning. Whilst they were marked as "D" poles all of the markings including the actual D, and the card that marks the degrees a pole is leaning were entirely degraded with age. Openreach remained unresponsive, hard to make contact with, and ultimately uninterested. I hence agree, a person is lucky if they don't have to contact Openreach over this sort of issue.

I now live fairly remote. You are clearly blind to the vast majority of this country (by land area) which is rural. Leaning poles are common, in fact we have several poles that have fallen and despite reporting into Openreach there lacks any remedy as the fibre optic connection still functions despite the cabling no longer being held by the pole.

Take a moment to self reflect on how you can possibly be entirely informed as to the posture and state of all Openreach assets out in the field. I am assured you lack this visibility in full, hence at best you're making your own sweeping assumptions based upon your own limited experiences. Similar, you cannot attest over the responsiveness and willingness of Openreach to provide remedy to all end-users who contact directly. Again, whilst you may have positive experiences that is not a fact. Given the facts, you cannot with any reason make sweeping statements such as "yet again you are making things up."

All I can say is, yet again, you are making conclusions without any certainty. It appears you are venting, and this is your route, operating with a veil of "I only want facts to be on this forum" all whilst failing entirely yourself to operate in accordance with this ideology.

Overall zyborg47 is writing experiences that align much more closely with my own, than anything you are stating. Whilst I am all for experiences being voiced freely and appreciate how these vary, you lack the same decency.

To treat you with the same respect you treat others (enjoy):

Whilst people who come to this forum seeking advice may be unaware of your deep routed frustrations, anger and undertones of aggression, which manifest into attacking others who are well meaning on here, your behaviour is likely to seriously diminish the quality of the forum for both myself, visitors, and regulars. smile smile smile
