grrrrrrr

BT have "Auto Ceased" the order with no more detail really apart from "no port available"...

So guess we are out of luck!

Thanks all.

You should be able to order ADSL there for now as no SOGEA is available - and then once a port on the cab is available transfer over to SOGEA. You'll have to find an ISP with sufficient clue to get that manual order placed because it is now a 'by exception' option.

Ordering 'direct from BT' won't make any odds as BT Retail is not Openreach and you have a cabinet port capacity issue - it doesn't matter which Openreach based ISP you use as there just isn't a port to connect you to.

Understand that BT Retail is not Openreach. But you can only put so much energy into these things.

Painful though - much better if the checker just showed there was a capacity wait list for the address.

Will just get him up and running with a 4G solution for now.

Thanks all.

Last attempt now with A&A - they've discovered the capacity issue is actually no copper pairs available at the other end of the house cable. Escalated and an update next week hopefully as to whether there's any chance of anything.

Thanks for all the help peeps... update...

Turns out whilst the A&A order was waiting for an Openreach update - the original, ceased order by BT Retail, Openreach engineer visit hadn't been cancelled - and he turned up - had a look at the property itself, visited the cabinet and 2 hours later all was up and running. I had to let A&A know their thunder had been stolen.
