That isn’t what I said, there of course needs to be a check of what is possible before an order is placed.

There’s nothing stopping a provider showing basic packages before that check is done though. It seems only the smaller/higher cost providers give this information upfront.

Plenty of us get asked about broadband options by friends and family yet can’t actually see any pricing. Also FTTP is being rolled out to thousands more every week who perhaps like me want to see pricing so they can order promptly.

You're assuming that there's a standard pricing nationwide. Increasingly that's not the case. Regional offers and even down to postcode level offers are starting to creep in.

If you really want to help them you would give them accurate information by using the availability checker to confirm an ISP and package is available.

As you have seen first hand, FTTP may be immediately available but certain ISPs are not but an availability check would show that.

I know you think you have some edge cases to justify not wanting an availability checker in front of the packages but they are all floored as all ISPs and packages are not available to all properties nationwide and sometimes not at the same price.
