Cheers. I know CF called up to switch me on and that was automatic. And I understand different ONT to different ISP's - I guess the guys knew about Fritzbox as were surprised when I swapped it for the Asus on iDNET sent.

As I said before ONT make has nothing to do with your ISP. CityFibre have two equipment suppliers and match the ONT to the OLT in the exchange for your line.

A Nokia ONT means your house is served off a Nokia OLT in the exchange, you would have got a Nokia ONT regardless of which ISP you are with.

From reading info from other ISPs they do have several Calix ONTs but which one you get seems to be down to technology your house is served by and the speed you have ordered (older GPON ONTs only have a 1GE port)

Different routers from different ISP's. The ONT will usually remain the same between any ISP on the same wholesale network.

It's only when changing network (Openreach, CityFibre, Netomnia, etc) that a new ONT will be installed, but the old ONT will remain incase you wish to return to that network.
