This is the one run this morning wired with no other network activity - not any that would reduce it from 500 to sub 15. TBB tester out of all the speed tests I have run is the only one that also reports the upload as bad, rest are 58 to 72MB

can you do a direct test to the ont, its just rule out the router being the issue. My gut feeling as somebody else has said, the fault you have mentioned in the other thread is still not fixed.
Basically connect a cat cable to the ont to your pc and create a pppoe connection with vlan tagging. Obviously if you have a spare router that can do vlan tagging go for it.
Basically by testing to the ont, you are eliminating your equipment.

Thanks will give it a go this evening.
Any guide on how to do the connection settings?

These instructions are broadly generic enough for Window 10 and 11 to help you get going. NB this will only work when you're directly connected to the ONT, and you'll need whatever PPPoE username & password your ISP requires to input into the form (normally goes into the router, ISP-provided routers will often have this preconfigured). Details vary depending on ISP. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1044512/

There is no vlan tagging on Openreach FTTP outside the ONT. It isn't needed on the router or on the OS with a direct connection.

Test done with cable from the laptop to the ONT, Had to use another laptop as could not connect with the surface, not sure if the laptop is GB ethernet but makes no difference.
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/17068103602... - This was with a cat^ cable as was the one below.

Swapped the cable over for the one VF sent with the router

Raise a fault with VF, if they won't fix it, leave!.
Sorry about the vlan info, that came from the voda forums and i half thinking it thru at the time

They've agreed to let me leave penalty free.
The concern for me is, will the next provider have same issue as well?
|
|
|
|
It may or may not. If the issue is at Voda's end in the exchange it will clear. If its OR equipment then no it will persist and you will have to raise a fault with your new isp.

Multiple speed tests connected directly to the ONT give good results to Vodafone servers other than Manchester, any other non VF and its 5 to 25MB speed.
I've put my migration in and moving next Wednesday, not optimistic it will improve as OR told me -15 was a good light reading, since found out its at the lower and not top end.
got to have hope
