also watch out for a new connector being fitted to maybe a wall near you or on the pole (if your line is on a pole) its when that is there then the WBC FTTP product should shortly become available

I would also watch out for BT EE sales people flooding your streets for a couple of weeks (they are trying to get you signed up to BT/EE just before anyone else can grab your custom) as they will know your area is due to go live with WBC

I wouldnt depend on what the BT OR guy said they would not necessarily know anything about installation but will still tell you its going to be there shortly so you dont look for alternatives

They have probably fitted FTTP in other properties locally and moved it from 2stage to 1stage with the further information gathered in previous installs as they now know they can install in 1 visit

all my area was 2 stage until I had mine fitted they did surveys to install mine fitted it over 2 visits and moved everyone else to 1 stage

It doesn't mean that either. Every Openreach Head-End exchange has FTTP to some extent.

FTTPoD availability used to be limited to lines connected to an FTTC enabled PCP.
They excluded lines on cabinets with no FTTC and exchange only lines.
MDU's have always been excluded.

FTTPoD coverage was expanded (considerably) with the FTTC cabinet requirement removed. MDU's remain excluded.
There are still areas with FTTP available at the Head-End exchange with no FTTPoD availability.

Frankly I have no idea what the availability criteria is. I don't know anyone else who can pin point it either.
Openreach were extremely vague when they announced the coverage expansion.
I do know it has nothing to do with FTTP being at the exchange though.

The sole availability criterion is the depth of your bank account smile
