Eunetworks

Anyone know anything about them? They are digging up my village - again - laying yet another trench with yet more fibre (we already have 2 altnets, with OR yet to build). From what I can make out they do metro networks between large European cities for big corporates, so unlikely to offer the likes of me anything useful. We just have to suffer the roadworks pain and dug-up footways for no benefit. Quite why they are building through my backwater I have no idea. It's a bit Hitchhikers - our village has been scheduled for demolition to make way for a hyperspace fibre bypass, and the Vogons have arrived.

That's about the sum of it.

They may be brining in additional capacity for one or either of your existing altnets.

Best get out of the PJs and dressing gown and into your normal clobber just in case though 😎 🤣

If you're where I think you are they're building a couple of resilient paths from their metro network in Slough in the general direction of High Wycombe, potentially heading to Oxford and going via Burnham and East Burnham, one of those paths presumably going through your village.

This is core Internet infrastructure rather than for any particular client. It'll appear on their long haul network map.

As for why it's going through your village it has to go through somewhere to get from A to B.

smile I winge, but it's nothing compared to what some folks unlucky enough to be in the way of HS2, say, have suffered, and probably for even less benefit. But I'd better not get started on that subject.

The same nimbys that complained like hell about the M40 and wouldn't be without it now?

Thanks, interesting map! I've been watching them dig up various areas around here over the past few years.
