it was OR. MJ Quinn looked at the original duct first, but has been OR, then civils (subcon?), then OR for the final fibre cabling and connection.

That's shocking poor job from OR. Send these photo to OR CEO and complaint

Wandering around the village the other week, came across this fttp install - in a conservation area too!
I don't know who the installer was.

Must admit that I was extremely please with the job that Kelly's guy did for me.

Cheers!

ps forgot the link!

I don't like the cable showing as the vandal can cut off cable easy

Poor job. The cable should be hidden inside the pole or duct

The last duct section has a collar that the 90 degree bend is joined to. This should not be on the surface but buried at the appropriate depth. Being on the surface means it is far too shallow and the bend is looking like a dogs breakfast. There may be reasons why this is so such as roots.

OR came back, engineer tried to manipulate the existing duct mess. but not successful.

OR civils (not contractors) asked to attend now and rectify the duct, i.e. run at correct depth to wall, straighten it up (as a bit squeuewhiff).and install proper cable protection. should be approx 5 days.

OR eng said his manager had suggested snipping duct back and putting fibre into the soil. We both agreed that was a [censored] suggestion!

ISP have been helpful and offering compensation for the hassle.

Maybe his manager came from an altnet, as that that's a favourite tactic of many in that game - direct bury the blown fibre tubes right in mother nature.

Not just Jesus. Anyone would weep with no tear ducts.
