I do wonder if these jobs get randomly audited like they used to ?

And the cable entry is a shocker.

Report it to ISP, have them come back and correct their rubbish work.

The only good thing about it is that it works.

I don't want to spoil the fun but the difficult 'spot the difference' to notice is that the existing copper connection has been cut. First I knew about it was loss of my existing VDSL circuit and the 'engineer' pulling a fat cable through the duct from the house end.
When questioned he just said, 'I couldn't get the rod through'; which was just a slim cobra on a reel as far as I could see. (its a 50mm duct)

One positive was that he took the copper cable he had removed with him and removed the brick punch out debris!

Openreach really shouldn't use 'that' company.

I had noticed that the copper had been cut … and had , erroneously, thought, must have been cut previously, because the work shy git has left the 66.

Again, report to the ISP you ordered the FTTP from. It IS acceptable to use the UG copper to pull through the new fibre … BUT, before this route is used, the installer should explain what they may have to do it, and agree and confirm with you , that you have no working service on the copper.

The removal of the copper is a bit of a benefit.

I can now remove all vestiges of the copper, including the internal box (although, I guess I'm really not supposed to do that!)

My only real worry is that the fibre splice will fail given the obvious disregard for quality the 'engineer' has shown.

The aesthetics are a bit pants, but that doesn’t necessarily follow that the quality of the splicing will be poor.

Mine was similar but done by OR. Disconnected copper but had previously rodded the fibre through my drive's UG duct. I asked him politely to reconnect the copper as I was still in contract so needed to run that down. OR bod drilled from inside for fibre and left a chunk out of the brick.

I want to raise complaint because this user has locked shared file in my google drive which it won't let me deleted it. I suggest you to unlock it for to let me to deleted in my google shared folder to deleted it please.
