Fibre drop cable hanging loose.

[link to this post]

My wife owns a property which has been let out for 7 years during which time the tenants had FTTP installed by Openreach for possibly Sky as their ISP. The tenants have now left and the house is on the market for sail.
For whatever reason the black pvc cable clips are failing and the fibre drop cable is just flapping around. How can I get Openreach to re-secure the fibre cable? Currently the FTTP is not being used. The tenant did leave the ONT and its psu. There is/was no contract with Openreach or Sky with my wife.

I have tried using 5mm clips but the fibre is too stiff to get a satisfactory result - the existing vertical cable run does not follow vertical pointing. The only way I can see is to drill the bricks and use Cable Clip Nail Plugs, although I fear that the diameter of the cable clip pins that I have will be insufficient.

(I'm glad that for our FTTP I ran some 20mm black conduit up the wall!)

Cheers!

When having trouble getting cleats in, we used to use ‘pins plug no.1’ tiny ‘rawl plug’ kinda things. Drill a 5mm hole the depth of the plug , tap it in, then the hole in the plug is spot on for the pin on the cleats.

Found ‘em .

Received a letter just the other day ..

I've got some similar somewhere in the garage, I got from B&Q a while back. Not sure (once I've found them) whether the 5mm clips I've got have large enough diameter pins. When I used them for securing TV coax, I ended up having to put a dab of glue on the nail.....

Trouble is that when you send off for cable clips, they give they give the size for the cable but not for the nail.

Cheers!

If the hole is too big, stuff a matchstick or two down it. If it's too small, get a bigger hammer tongue
